Duty & Statehood

Born in Ft. Lauderdale and raised in South Florida, Ryan Shollenberger attended Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School before earning his degree in Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.

Driven by a desire to serve, he joined the United States Air Force in 2009 as a weather forecaster—beginning a decade-long journey of military dedication that would eventually bring him home to Wyoming.

From Global Intelligence to Local Roots

Ryan's military career took him around the globe, deploying to Afghanistan and Colombia in Army support roles to provide critical weather intelligence to boots on the ground. He prioritized continuing education throughout his service, completing his M.S. in Environmental Policy and Management in 2017.

After analyzing solar space weather infrastructure while stationed in Australia, Ryan landed at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in 2020, transitioning his skills to support nuclear operations right here in Cheyenne.

A Concrete Commitment to Cheyenne

After separating from active duty, Ryan brought his expertise to local television as KGWN Channel 5's Weekend Meteorologist, deeply connecting with the stories and families of Wyoming. His commitment to service only grew: in 2022, he joined the Wyoming Army National Guard as a Field Artillery Officer, and in 2023, he stepped into Laramie County classrooms as a K-12 substitute teacher.

Today, Ryan balances his time between public school classrooms, military drills, and fighting fires with Albany County Wildland Fire. He is running for the Wyoming House of Representatives to ensure District 11 has a proven leader who always shows up when called.
